Cadre Selections Registration


Application Process

1. Cost and Payment

There is no cost to members for this activity.


2. Required Documentation

 

     All members must have current CAPID Card.

     All members must be safety current.

     Members must also bring completed:

o     CAP Form 31

 

Candidates will not be allowed to participate in the Cadre Selection activity if their paperwork is incomplete. Out of Wing and Region Cadets, you will need your Wing Commander’s and Region Commander’s approval to attend.

 

3. Check-in and Check-out Information:

Check-in time: Saturday 9 May NLT 0755. The general briefing will be beginning at 0800.

Check in will be On North Fort Lewis. Location is TBD and will be released at a later date.

Your CAP ID, driver’s license, registration, and proof of insurance will be required to get on base.

Check-in Uniform: Blues, short sleeve with tie.

Cadet Officers will wear any badges and cords, sans ribbons.

Cadet NCOs will wear badges, cord, and ribbons.

If candidates are staying overnight, they must bring all necessary items (sleeping bag, sleeping pad, toiletries, etc.).

Check-out: Completion of Cleanup, approximately 1800, Sat 9 May 2015

Candidates are responsible for coordinating transportation to and from the activity.


4. Meals: 

Saturday lunch will be served at no cost. Those who are coming over early will be responsible for meals other than the lunch that is being provided.


5. Billeting:

Candidates who are traveling a great distance have the option of staying at North Fort Lewis on Friday night.

7. Required Reading:

An exam will be conducted during Cadre Selections. All candidates are expected to come prepared by reading the following publications.

8. Medical Issues, Medication: 

Safety and health of Candidates is of paramount importance to us. Candidates who have medical concerns should note them on their CAPF 160, inform the Senior Staff upon check-in. We need clear, prompt, honest communication from Candidates regarding injuries or conditions in order to keep them healthy and safe. Candidates should at no time attempt to “tough it out,” and will not be looked down on for their concerns or issues.

Under Washington State Law, it is illegal for any person other than a Parent or Legal guardian to administer medication, prescription or not, to minors. Candidates with prescriptions should bring appropriate doses, carry them if needed, and self-administer appropriately.

 

9. Code of Conduct:

First and foremost, Members are expected to abide by the CAP Honor Code which has been adopted from the US Air Force Academy: "We Will Not Lie, Steal or Cheat, Nor Tolerate Among Us Anyone Who Does."

 

In addition, candidates will abide by the following Code of Conduct. Violation of any of these principles (or the CAP Honor Code) will cause the Member to be removed immediately from current activities for counseling and will be considered grounds for dismissal from Cadre Selection, based on the discretion of the Cascade Falcon Commandant of Cadets. A letter detailing the nature of the violations and the actions taken will be sent to the Member, the Candidate’s Parents/Legal Guardians, Unit, and Washington Wing HQ.

Code of Conduct Rules:

     The safety of our Members is paramount, and will not be compromised.

     The Chain of Command must be observed and respected, except for matters of safety.

     The CAP Core Values, will be followed all times.

     Hazing and fraternization will not be tolerated.

     No alcohol, tobacco, or non-prescribed controlled substances are tolerated on the premises.

     No weapons are tolerated on the premises.

     No gambling or objectionable reading material is allowed on the premises.

     Proper Sign-In and Sign-Out procedures must be observed.

     Students will turn off phones during the selection process, and may use them only during designated times.

     Cadet Cadre will adhere to phone use guidance proscribed by the Commandant of Cadets.

     Candidates will at no time operate a motor vehicle while signed in.

 

10. Distance application process:

For candidates who cannot attend Cadre Selections, they will submit a full length picture (with cover) in .jpg or .png format of them in their Battle Dress and Short Sleeve Blues (with tie) Uniform. Candidates will also arrange a phone interview with command cadre. Additionally, they will competently writes responses to scenario questions. They should contact the Cadet Commander for the scenarios and interviews. Distant applications are due 9 May 2015, 2000 PT. Applications should be submitted to cascadefalcon@wawg.cap.gov.
